The Step360 is another piece of at home exercise equipment to hit the market in time for the January rush.

It's a step but with a difference. A traditional step is fixed and stable whereas the Step360 can be made unstable (wobbly). It's circular in shape and looks like a pair of donuts one stacked on top of the other. A large donut on the bottom and a smaller one on top.

If the Step360 is fully inflated it's stable like a normal step if however you let some of the air out it becomes unstable. The idea is that the body has to work a lot harder because it's constantly having to adjust it's position to stay on the step. Although you won't burn a lot more fat because of the instability it will cause your core and inner skeletal muscles to work a lot harder.

The Step360 can help you combine cardio and strength training in one workout making it far more effective than cardio alone. The muscle building is facilitated by being able to attach an exercise band to the lip of the step enabling you to do exercises like bicep curls, chest presses and lateral raises.

The Step360 comes with 8 DVD's totalling 2 hours worth of workouts. According to the sales literature an element of interval training has been introduced into these workouts making them even more effective.

Although more expensive than a traditional step ($119) it looks like a lot of fun to use and if it's fun you're more likely to use it and that after all is the key to getting the best out of any piece of exercise equipment.
